COSR Criticality INSA Support

Nuclear Technologies personnel were contracted to provide Independent Nuclear Safety Assessments (INSA) of criticality safety cases for BNFL Sellafield. These had been produced as part of the Continued Operations Safety Report (COSR) for the B205 Magnox Reprocessing Plant.

Scope of service supplied

• The provision of INSA support to BNFL, covering the detailed criticality safety assessments for major process plant areas in the B205 Magnox Reprocessing Plant. This required the use of expert criticality safety analysts who were familiar with the plant and process, as well as conversant with the requirements of modern safety cases, such as COSR.
