PILE 1 CORE DISMANTLING WORKSHOP

Description:
Nuclear Technologies were contracted to provide an expert Consultant at the Pile 1 Optioneering Workshop held during November 2003 at the Lancaster House Hotel, to assist and provide input into the areas of remote mechanical handling and cutting techniques.

Scope of service supplied

• Participation in the workshop event over a 3-day period covering all methods of dismantling the Pile 1 Core.

• This workshop consisted of a number of recognised industry experts from a number of organisations spread across the nuclear industry.

• The workshops were split into several sub-groups that considered all methods of remote dismantling ranging from reverse assembly through to destructive cutting methods.
