| B220 GLOVEBOX DECOMMISSIONING FACILITY

Description:
Combined study and workshops considering a new facility to be sited within
B220 to dismantle and process 100 contaminated Gloveboxes and related equipment.
Scope of service supplied
The following package of work has been undertaken:

An
initial workshop to generate a broad scope of ideas
for the initial glovebox dismantling, further size reduction
techniques, assay, waste sorting/packing and export.

Perform
a ‘rough sort’ of the ideas generated to
eliminate the least practicable ones.

Prepare
a draft report detailing the selected options,
covering technical descriptions, safety and cost elements.
-
Produce
a workshop-briefing document (PowerPoint presentation)
including project overview, assumptions, schematic
diagrams of each option and associated costs.

Compile
ranking criteria to assess each option against covering
all aspects of safety, technical risk, commercial risk,
costs and regulatory issues.

Host a workshop
consisting of UKAEA stakeholders, technical, commercial,
safety and project representatives, using the HiView® optioneering
software package.
-
Production of final report
including findings and analysis of HiView® process.
