| Environment and Radioactive
Waste Management Group
Nuclear Technologies can provide technical
services across the full range of environment and radioactive
waste management issues. With respect to radioactive waste
management, Nuclear Technologies consultants have substantial
experience in the assessment, handling, treatment and disposal
of liquid, gaseous and solid radioactive
wastes. On the environment side this includes assessing radiological
impacts (dispersion modelling and dose assessment) and conventional
impacts (contaminated land assessment). In bringing these
skills together, the company is able to provide a comprehensive
package.
A thorough understanding of how site license
requirements relate to environmental and radioactive waste
management enables the company to undertake specialist safety
case and policy work relating to these areas. This has led
to the gaining of extensive expertise and experience in the
development of radioactive waste management strategies for
liquid, gaseous and solid wastes. This has been underpinned
by carrying out a wide range of best practicable environmental
option (BPEO) studies and best practicable means (BPM) assessments
for major UK clients, as identified below.
